Special Events
As a whole, the student body is great at planning activities and social events for their class–whether that is a dance party in the dinning hall, weekly volleyball games, movie nights in the lounge, or road trips to nearby concerts, KI students are always active. However, we like to plan special events occasionally throughout the year to bless our students. Check out some of the events we have done in the past…
Camping Trip
Weather permitting, we love to take a 2-3 day camping trip to Kyle’s Landing in Ponco, Arkansas, right next to the Buffalo River. With great hiking trails, rock climbing, waterfalls, and caves in the area there is a ton to do. But even if we didn’t see Hawk’s Bill or swim in the Buffalo, the best parts of the trip are the conversations with classmates and the quiet times with the Lord that happen when we are disconnected from modern day distractions. For the last reason alone, the Kyle’s Landing camping trip is one of our favorite events.

Spirit Week
Once a year, we schedule a special week where we relax pretty much everything and have a crazy twist to each day. Whether that meansyou have to dress like you roommate for class, have a competition to see who has the most school spirit, or bring classic Disney characters to life, every day is a blast and provides tons of laughter and great memories. The end of Spirit Week culminates in a flag football tournament and a good old fashioned Hoedown.
Talent Show
In the spring semester, we host a KI Talent Show, where our students show off their best skills, talents, or craziness. With legacy
trophies at stake, students prepare for weeks, writing songs, rehearsing dance routines, or practicing skills. The actual Talent Show night is filled with laughter and great memories.
80′s Skate Party

Every so often we like to roll the clock back and relive the golden days. What better decade than the 80′s and what better way to celebrate than with a skate party!? Every time we throw this party, we rent out the local skating ring, and our students show up in their best 80′s gear, shake off the rust from their roller-skate skills, and jam out to the sounds of Jessie’s Girl, Can’t Touch This, I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll, Beat It, Sweet Dreams, You Give Love a Bad Name, The Right Stuff and other iconic songs from the time when shoulder pads, acid wash jeans, neon colors, and teased hair were still high fashion.
