Area Part Time Jobs
Every year, students ask us about the potential of obtaining an extra part time job during their KI year. You are more than welcome and are encouraged to hold a part time job; however, doing so is not required. In the past students have successfully managed their KI responsibilities and community involvement along with a part time job. However, we do request that you limit yourself to 15 hours a week. Working more than the suggested hour amount easily distracts from making studying and ministry your first priority. It is suggested that JBU students not work or work only minimal hours.
There are many places to seek employment while a student at the Kanakuk Institute. Here are some ideas and part time jobs our students have held in the past:
- Sales Associates at Gap, Old Navy, Nike, UnderArmor, Banana Republic
- Gymnastics coaches, weekend referees for kids’ football, soccer and basketball games, and climbing wall staff.
- Sales associates or restaurant servers for Texas Land & Cattle, White House Black Market, The Fugery, etc.
Babysitting
Auto repair and detailing
Restaurant Wait Staff
