Accepted Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Kanakuk Institute!

Before enrolling, we would like you to explore the entirety of the page below to make sure you have complete understanding of everything you are signing up for and agreeing to.

We have navigated this process with thousands and have anticipated the questions you are likely asking!

Student Handbook

All the information you need regarding the Institute is included in the Student Handbook.

Disclaimer: this is the current class handbook. Your handbook upon arriving at KI may have slight changes.

Housing

The Kanakuk Institute is located in the beautiful Ozark Mountains in Branson, Missouri.  While Branson is well-known for live music and family vacations, it’s also home to and near magnificent hiking trails and lakes.

Our beautiful campus is located on the shores of historic Lake Taneycomo. It includes fully furnished cottages, two fishing docks, 8 boat slips, boat ramp, two lounges for gatherings. Convenient to all of Branson’s family friendly entertainment, Silver Dollar City, shopping and attractions yet nestled quietly in a secluded family friendly property.

We have married, engaged, and single students who all share a desire to be equipped with biblical skills for a lifetime of ministry. All students live on campus.

I am forever changed because of the foundation KI helped me develop.

Fundraising

Once you complete your student enrollment, we encourage you to begin planning and saving for your tuition at the Institute.

We strongly encourage you to invite others to partner with you in your ministry.  Many students each year build incredible relationships with donors and see the Lord provide in unexpected ways.  The simple fact is that most people that have an interest in your life are very willing to give, but they need to be asked.  Click below to our Fundraising Support page to find resources and examples to help you with this important step.

Internship

Kanakuk Institute students will have the opportunity to serve in the community by completing an internship or practicum for five hours a week, a total of 120 hours for the year.  Students pursue, explore and advance their vocational pursuits while practicing the many Biblical discipleship skills they are learning at the Institute.

The Institute staff works with students to choose a practicum that will best fit their goals. Most internships are determined once you arrive in September.

There are opportunities for specialized internships that will require communication prior to September. See the below document for more details. Contact Julie Brinkman at julie@kanakukinstitute.com to discuss specifics

Bible Reading Plan

To prepare you for your time at the Kanakuk Institute, we have created a simple Bible Reading Plan for you to build consistency and learn more about the Inductive Bible Study Method. Sign up to receive weekly emails and read through the book of Luke with us!
